What’s an unconference?
I concur. It’s an idealistic rap, but about the only way to guarentee transprency, honesty and an open level playing field. By turning the audience into participants - we can harvest the garden of knowledge that is there to interact - rather than just listen.
This is the crime of existing conferences - the disrespect paid to the audience. That’s why I’m not going to Etech this year. I’m tired of being dissed.
Jon Lebkowsky, Peter Rojas and myself will be doing a panel at SXSW. We’re gonna try and get the audience involved and turn them into participants. Same thing for the panel I’ll be running at Mix06 on ‘the future of media’.
