Whole lotta links

Well here I go again - week behind on my blogging, so here’s a shitload of links to play catch-up. We really oughta type these compendium posts - something like “Lotta O Links”:

First off - my loyal, trusted follower Arnaud Leene has changed his web site - and he’s tracking everything that matters - like a true blue friend. So he’s reviewed my ‘Breaking the Web wide Open’ article in AlwaysOn and noted my enthusiastic support of Yahoo’s ‘Social Media Tools’.

Then there was the Google Base announcement - which got lots of followup coverage.

And I’m really sorry I missed the OMDS (open media developers summit.) I’ve never met Lucas Gonze in person, Eli Chapman was there and Kenyatta and of course all the video blogging homeboys and homegirls. Hopefully the got some work done. I know JD rapped it out.

Now that Apple is officially in the game, the comparisons between TiVO and the Windows MCE will continue. It’s a three horse race now. All those set top boxes - just don’t count - their suckage is so extreme.

The TypePad outage and 6A problems shows us many things. Blogging does scale - it just takes time to manage it. Customer service and communicating with your customers is key. The 6A people are really nice people.

The lineup for Les Blog 2.0 has been announced. They’ve put me on the same panel as Anina and Hugh McLeod. I GUARENTEE you it won’t be a normal panel. Also Charlie Schick is wondering “where the mobile panel is?” Scoble will be there. Paolo - too.

Jonathan Peterson is starting to blog again. I’ve missed him.

It’s TagCamp this weekend and there’s all sorts of goings on - including microformats-REST. Sorry I couldn’t make it people - I just need time to be normal right now.

I really think all key information should be diseminated like this. This is an interview of me by Jay Dedman on ourmedia and it’s future. Thanks Jay!

Lots of commotion over outsourcing. I had Shelly Powers contact me and complain that we were hiring folks out of the country - and that there were plenty of great people here in the US to hire. I said “oh really - who?” Shelly said “me” - so we hired her.

Coolio - “Days of our Lives” on-line promotion.
