What a show!

It’s all about people - so here are some of my favorites:

Dare-Tom.jpgLet’s start off with Dare Obesanjo and Tom Reilly.

Tom was a young scrub reporter when he fly into Chicago to interview me in 1985. He later went onto practically inventing the notion of guerilla marketing in the Mac marketplace while at SuperMac and co-founding PlanetOut.

Dare is the genius behind spaces.msn.com (with over 15M+ blogs already) and an aggregator called RSS bandit. He’s totally smart and asked the best questions at our ‘open source infrastructure’ workshop.

kim-nic.jpgNext up is Kim Polese and Nic Nyholm.

Kim is the legendary founder of Marimba, marketing manager for Java and now CEO of Spikesource. She’s a dear friend and an incredible dancer too - BTW.

Nic is the founder of Ascio and one of the original founders of the notion of Open Identity. He’s now creating all sorts of havoc in the Wifi/social networking arena - which I can’t tell you about - or else I’d have to kill you. Nic is based in Copenhagen and one of the drivers behind ‘reBoot’.

Now here’s a motely crew if there ever was one. 2 Jasons, a Steve and a Chris. Jason Shellen is demoing Google’s new RSS aggregator to an attentive Steve Gllmor, a Rojo-like Chris Alden and a recently purchased Jason “pimp for AOL” Calacanis.

2brightcove.jpgThen we’ve got two happy guys from Brightcove. Jeremy Allaire showed the final, shipping version of Brightcove - and it does everything promised. The only strange thing was that he was posotioning it stricly for Hollywood. He didn’t mention ‘Long Tail’ - once!

Obviously we’ll have to change that.

megbaby.jpgNow here’s Meg Smith and her happy, bouncing baby boy! Meg co-founded PlanetOut with Tom (see above) and is now a big schmoozer at Google.

I’ve known Meg ever since she worked for Apple - fresh out of MIT.

And finally here’s a recently purchsed Andy Baio (yup - the UpComing/Waxy guy himself), Jimmy Chang of HotorNot and Kevin Burton - who’s got a new startup - after leaving Rojo.

Like I said - it was quite a show!
