People are getting paid to blog at AOL - or not?
So check this out. I bet many of you did not know that there is a new AIM. It links to AOL.com and it’s many properties and that they now use a web page as the ‘Home’ page. This is significant if you’re AOL.
It represents a shift away from the walled garden world. AOL.com has a TON of great stuff and also Moviefone, MapQuest and oh - this thing called Time-Warner.

Here’s a blog called Music B-Sides and here’s one run by 3 women.
It’s heartening to see AOL wake up and get a clue. Maybe now they’ll even get some synergy with some of their sister companies?
REPEAT: Their new AIM Today is actually - a web page! Imagine that!
Now I gotta wonder - “are these bloggers getting paid to wax on eloquently about R.Kelly and new kinds of bras?”

“are these bloggers getting paid…?” Is this really a question, or have we forgotten that Weblogs, Inc. is basically paid bloggers?
Wouldn’t be so hard to appropriate them into other blogging tasks, would it? Just thinking out loud here

AOL has really smartened up lately. Paying people to run a corporate blog make a good use of resources. Otherwise you would have to use paid staff.
