Congrats to the Open Content Alliance! More free organized funded built-in content!
I created this huge article for AlwaysOn - called “Breaking the web wide open“. So parts 1, 2 and 3 are on-line now. Once we get all four parts up - I’ll collect them all together and make a big deal [...]

New era of blogging

Sunday, October 16th, 2005

Barb groks the relationship between Comet and DLAs (as usual.)
I really think this officially ushers in the new era of blogging. New tools like Y! 360, Structured Blogging, Comet and the upcoming - GoingOn Network - which we’re working on - will bring to the forefront the notion of ‘microcontent’ - structured content.
In fact [...]

And we keep on growing

Sunday, October 16th, 2005

So another story I’ve spent some time pondering on - before I blogged it - is the news that Multiply has passed 1 million emebers. This means they join the other 1 Mega-people SNS including:

Tim on Web 2.0

Sunday, October 16th, 2005

DLA expectations, NetVibes and GoingOn

Sunday, October 16th, 2005

As I just said - it’s great to see NetVibes growing.
But I doubt it’ll ever give Stowe Boyd the centralized, organzing DLA he’s been wishing for. It’s not that NetVbes doesn’t rock - or that it’ll give folks a nice little hub/Dashboard/Konfabulator interface to play with.
But I’m afraid that (at most) that’s as far [...]

Sunday, October 16th, 2005

Been waiting a while to learn more about Tailrank - but since today is ‘catch-up’ day - here we go.
First of all - anybody as coolio, righteous and humble as Kevin Burton gets as much publicity as possible.
Secondly - open reputation is a HUGE hole in our world and KY to disintermediating Ebay [...]

Lots O Links

Sunday, October 16th, 2005

Prodigem is getting it’s act together more and more. The legitimate open source DRM on top of Bittorrent (a sopposed to Mike Homers little tax write-off scam.) Now they’ve got APIs.
Everybody is going 501(c)3 - we are at ourmedia.org. Too.
The furor over the closed Google thingie has subsided - but did anybody [...]

Back on the blog train with JahShaka on board

Saturday, October 15th, 2005

OK - so let’s see how much blogging I can get done today - slicing through the vicodin haze. My face still looks like a chipmonk - but at least you’ll know where those missing walnuts are……
I’ve been waiting to jump in on the subject of “Where are all the British tech start-ups?” - [...]

God bless Vicodin

It leaves me too groggy to blog, but at least my jaw isn’t throbbing with pain.

In case you’re wondering what happened to me lately - just one word….
