XSPF Phase II
Lucas Gonze has an appeal for uptake.
Here’s a perfect post to followup on our philosophy. Take playlists for instance.
Mu3 was great when it was created, but falls far behind what we need as an industry. When I found out about XSPF I asked Lucas for it to be used for collections of all types (photos, text) while also extending it for video.
But Lucas pointed out it took them a year to get to V1 and now he’s calling for V2 and uptake.
I say “RIGHT ON” to Lucas. We’ll be supporting XSPF in GoingOn, ourmedia.org, Visual Media’s VMFX.net, our secret project with Avid (ooooops I guess it ain’t secret anymore) and all future projects - including one with an un-named multi-national, Big FOUR music label - which I’ll have to kill you if I disclose.
So supporting standards and providing compelling experiences to end-users is ALL THAT MATTERS!
And interchange between systems, advanced features and all that - is part of the compelling experience. Get it?
That’s why we’re not done yet and we support ALL.
So support XSPF!
