Identity 2.0: the movie

Sunday, September 18th, 2005

Phil Windley reminded me that I haven’t blogged Dick Hardt’s excellent presentation.
This is a MUST view.

Tags at IMDB

Sunday, September 18th, 2005

Congrats to the folks at IMDB who have added tags.
This reminds me that we’re working on getting Tags in ourmedia - connected ot tags from NOWPublic.com and Yahoo’s My Web 2.0.
The world of Tag is exploding.
Let’s just hope we can all use them to connect each other together.
Thanks to Oliver Travers for the pointer!

Web 2.0 = Microsoft

Sunday, September 18th, 2005

It’s great to see Richard MacManus with a paying gig at ZDNet!
His boss Dan Farber - my 20+ year plus good friend - knows how to hire - that’s for sure!
The extrapolation that Microsoft is doing Web 2.0 is a bit premature, but it’s a great vision. I sure hope that APIs […]

What’s on the table for next year?

Sunday, September 18th, 2005

Anil Dash is getting all astute and shit (and Jeffrey Veen agrees) as to what’s up for next year.
Though I agree with everything Anil has mapped out, my own list includes:
- micro-content publishing systems - where structured data is supporte dby aggregators, tools and new kinds of routing services.
- standards, standards and more standards - […]

More on our compatibility box

Sunday, September 18th, 2005

Bob Wyman introduced us to Joe Reger and his ‘data blogging’ concepts and code. Though it won’t be in our first version, we’ll make sure that Joe’s concepts are compatible with everything else we’re building with Bob and PubSub.
This all gets announced at Web 2.0. Go Phil Go!
It’ll probably end up […]

Man, Boy, Guy - feh! What does it matter? He plays a MEAN Accordian!

Sunday, September 18th, 2005

It was great to meet Joey DeVilla and Ross Rader in Toronto last week.
I was in town on the way to London, giving a presentation to the board of Alliance Atlantic - trying to explain to them that just cause they have teh Canadian rights to all these movies - that doesn’t really matter on […]

Being Social up in Cambridge

Sunday, September 18th, 2005

Even Matt Mower got to go to the recent Our Social Worldup in Cambridge last week.
Sounded like a nice event, all the usual suspects from both sides of the pond. I wish I could have heard Simon Grice’s presentation and of course there’s always the contest on who can be more witty and ascebic.
Between […]

Went shopping today in Old Dehli

Sunday, September 18th, 2005

We went shopping today and my hosts Gaurav, Ashish and Manish told me they hadn’t spent as much time in Delhi since they came back from the states - working for Microsoft.
So I didn’t feel so guilty having them as my tour guides. We bought some raw silk yesterday and you all will be […]

NetVibes

Saturday, September 17th, 2005

OH my God. I haven’t had so much fun in months!
This rocks.
Someone has gone and done it - built a DLA tool.
It’s called NetVibes.
Doesn’t recognize micro-content yet - but I’m sure it will. It’s mainly a text editor, link aggregator, RSS displayer, custom UIer right now - but what a fantastic start!
Congrats to […]
