JahShaka V2 out

Monday, August 15th, 2005

A few years back - I blogged about an open source tool - which did much of what a $75,000 high end compositing program does.
It’s called JahShaka.
Well they’ve gotten funding and they’re on a tear. V2 is ready, a social network that complements the tool is on it’s way and I’m helping.

Needless to [...]

No more Technorati Tags ads

Friday, August 12th, 2005

Not sure if this has anything to do with anything, but I’ve been vocal in my displeasure at what one of the most respected, important people in our world has been doing with tags.
Dave Weinberger had been calling his tags - Technorati Tags - which is a blatant ad for our much beloved data mining [...]

So how much will Technorati be sold for?

Friday, August 12th, 2005

I’ll throw in a Kevin Marks and raise yah a Niall Kennedy.
I bet $100M even. It’s such a round number.
I think it’s a good time to sell Technorati. Afterall the hype is high, they got Peter Hirshberg pimping for them and Dave Weinberger has STOPPED advertising for them - which means they’ve gotten [...]

Recollections from London

Friday, August 12th, 2005

So I’ve been back from London for almost a week down, heads down in a worldwide offsite with some of our programmers from India and New Zealand. It’s been incredibly productive week and the world of DLAs and micro-content publishing will be moving forward - or shall I say - IS moving forward.

It’s a mobile world

Monday, August 8th, 2005

So I’m sitting at a Starbucks in South Kensington and these dudes sitting next to me were all geared up and mobile. Not sure if they were drug dealers or what - but one guy had 3 the other 2 cell phones.
They didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. “Yuh - [...]

Peter Caputa is looking for advice

Monday, August 8th, 2005

Peter Caputa is asking for advice. Here’s his pitch:
My super secret stealthy plan involves giving away our services to what Seth Godin would call connectors. I’d also arrange for these people to get backstage at concerts like System of a Down, no cover charge at bars like Irish Times, dates with girls like Krysy [...]

Two of my favorite people - Congrats to Rebecca and Curtis.

Orb now has APIs - yet another piece of the infrastructure is put into place

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

I originally reported on Orb as a sexy Home Media server platform, and I kept my mouth shut whenI heard about their announcement of going open source and their Sprint deal. I even reported when Russ Beattie started to grok them.
Orb has lots of fans - and this one could just make it!
Now I’m [...]

Remember Nokia’s Lifeblog?
I got a Nokia 6630 - just so I could play with this early stage software - from Charlie Schick of Nokia. But I haven’t really been able to get any value out of the software, as it seems kind of function lacking to me. All I can think of is all [...]

Microformats in Business — Structuring Content for Search & Collaboration

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005

So here’s a synopsis of some of the conversation that’s been going on - via the ReBlog mail list. I mean ReBlg.
We kind of stumbled into these folks - by using the same name - yet the discourse has been courteous, informative and productive.
What we’ve found as a common kernal [...]
