Followup to post on Technorati business models and sponsorships
Like every great entreprenuer - Dave Sifry is defensive of his baby - his company. So right in between the Bul Go Ki BBQ and the homemade coconut cake (at today’s BBQ scene) - Dave gave me a call to straighten me out on the ads and issues surrounding their Live8 promotion.
“There’s plenty of ads there” he said.
“Yah - but I wasn’t talking about ads - I was talking about sponsorships” I said.
“Well the ‘bloggers backstage’ promo wasn’t a commercial venture and we had plenty of corporations sponsoring live8 and…….”
So Dave is right - there are plenty of Ads and sponsorships for LIve8.
But that’s not what I was talking about. I was imagining that corporate names will attach themselves to contests and that money make it into blogger’s pockets. That’s what I’m looking to do - get corporate sponsorship money into bloggers pockets.
