We need more promotions like this
I spend a lot of my time answering our clients questions on “how can we exploit the blogosphere?”
“How can we make money off of bloggers?”
This seems ot be the ‘meme du jour’ - if it’s about bloggers and blogging - fine - now how do we make money from it.
Lately I’ve been pitching that they (our clients) need to put MONEY into bloggers pockets. Marqui was the first client to jump on that and $80,000 went into our 20+ bloggers pockets.
But that’s raw cash.
How ’bout other intangibles?
Like getting backstage at a huge rock concert?
So I was delighted to see this promo on Dave Sifry’s page - for this Live8 promo. Only problem - “where’s the corproate sponsor?”
I hate leaving money on the table and Techorati could use the cash flow, so…….
I don’t want to take away from the incredible work Dave and the Technorati team have done with Live8. It’s a great example of how tagging, Technorati and great ideas can all come together.
But I’d like to know what the Technorati business model is - so I can believe in them - more. So seeing obvious things like corporate driven sponsorships would be reassuring. That’s all. That’s all I wanted to say.
Thanks Dave and team for the great promo. Keep um coming.

Hi Marc,
Nice to see you at Vloggercon. I hate to say that I know how Technorati can become profitable and just via a sligh change in its’ business model, but I do. However, I’ll keep it to myself — at least out of the reach of search engine spiders.
Speaking of profitablity, my company has multiple sources of revenue. See:
