Stowe floats a new idea

Stowe Boyd is calling for particiaption for a new kind of conference, something which would radicially break the model that perpetuates in our industry today.

You see I’ve been going to these sort of conferences for over 20 years now and I’ve even called for new kinds of conferences - in my blog - before as well.

Stowe’s conference would be called “Social Architecture Symposium” and he’s got a lot of grat ideas all ready to go.

As a coincidence Doc and I were thinking of helping to produce a new conference (name withheld to protect the innocent) but then they started talking about “well it HAS to be traditional - too.”

Well it’s hard to have your cake and eat it too - as it takes a new kind of virtual, disruptive approach to really achieve these sort of goals. Regardless of the subject, constituents or timing - conferences of the future should be persistent, maintain a permanent home in cyberspace and be used as a vehicle and resource for knowledge and conversations.

That’s what we’re trying to do with the Identity Gang.
