ourmedia.org Exec Director
I’ve been so dam busy - I forgot to blog and acknowledge that my partner - JD Lasica - will become the first Exec. Dir of ourmedia.org.
We’ll be incorporating as a non-profit and announcing funding from several sources - soon.
But for now - let me just say this - JD and his team of moderators have been working their asses off on ourmedia to make it a success.
And a little company called Tekriti - has been building ourmedia.org - with help from Bryght - and lots of other individuals - as well.
Then there’s Brewster Kahle and the team at the Internet Archives and the folks at the Creative Commons - too. Lots of people are needed to pull off something like this - and I’m proud to be associated with them - especially JD.
Now that ourmedia.org is going, and the Identity Gang is rocking - I can now move onto other open source infrastructure efforts - such as OpenEvents, OpenReviews and OpenTopics.
The difference with these forms of micro-content is that there is ALREADY a huge effort afoot - called microformats - which takes care of like 85%-90% of what’s needed.
So we’re shootng for a SuperNova demo - to show how we see microformats being utilizing to flesh out and expand the notion of micro-content.
