ourmedia.org surpasses 5,000 uploads

Gaurav Bhatnagar reports that ourmedia.org has now uploaded more than 5,000 uploads in a little under two months. As of this moment there are 18,772 registered members.

The breakdown is as follows:

- videos = 2624
- audios = 966
- images = 1255
- texts = 207

Total = 5052

So congrats to Gaurav and Ashish and the team at Tekriti.

And congrats to Boris Mann and James Walker and the folks up at Bryght.

And a GIANT thank you to Parker Thompson, Tracey Jaquith, Brewster Kahle and the Internet Archives.

And finally - of course - congrats to JD Lasica and the moderators who are working their asses off to keep this thing policed and running.

    One of those vids is my first archive upload and CC contribution. Thanks Marc! What’s next? In looking over the old vloggercon interviews and the IT Connections interview with you and J.D., you mentioned that we would all see what happens for six months. It’s almost six months now, so what is in store for ourmedia and archive.org? Does Brewster love it (how could he not?) and want to keep going? How can we help with bandwidth? (don’t forget we have built a great peer-2-peer file sharing solution for both mac’s and PC’s). Thanks again, I owe you a dinner at Quaymas!
