Increased machine-useful data

Danny Ayers voices his opinion of the lower case semantic web.
You see Danny is one of those stalkers - who tracks my going on - regardless of where I am - around the world. So he asked me about the sessions at SXSW - and what Eric Meyer had to say.
I’ve posted earlier on [...]

Great Lifeblog write up

Thursday, April 7th, 2005

Giles Turnball has a great indepth report of Nokia’s Lifeblog - which I am a tester for.
It highlights Lifeblog’s daddy - Christian Lindholm - who I met at ETech - hanging with Russel Beattie.
Though I woudl do it differently Lifeblog is a new kind of tool, partially inspired (I’m sure) by Joi Ito’s life - [...]

Great article in Slate by Paul Boutin on Brewster Kahle called The Archivist. It mentions ourmedia.org. We’re proud to be associated with Brewster. As JD and I have gone around and explained ourmedia.org to folks, the #1 question we get back is: “and who is this guy Brewster? Free - forever? [...]

Yahoo beats Google to Wikipedia

Thursday, April 7th, 2005

Now this is getting really fun.
Despite the rumors that Google was going to play host to the Wikipedia - it looks like Yahoo beat them to a deal to integrate hooks into the Wikipedia - from Yahoo search.
Wouldn’t it be cool is BOTH deals came through?

Man - today is turning into a day when I can connect many dots together.
I just got to conote capitalism in it’s pure state - with fascism. The underlying notion of exploiting workers and resources to create profit - is just sick to me. So when Jason Calacanis accused ME of improperly gaming [...]

The Events ecosystem

So EVDB is live and Peter Caputa is pointing out that WhizSpark has been around for a while now and showing how it can be done.
So don’t leave Peter out or miss how smart he is - on other matters.

I called Jason Calacanis a fascist

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

Here is the evidence.
It was during a deabte we had on the Marqui program.
Jason takes this attitude - as many do - that there are rules, morals and certain values bloggers should have and ethics under which they should operate - or not.
In other words - the way to freedom is through being told [...]

Barb Dybwad tells it like it is

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

I’ve been enjoying reading Barb Dybwad over at the SocialSoftware-WeblogsInc. site. Yet another discovery of Judith Meskills (she also the one who turned me onto Peter Caputa) - Barb has been following ‘community video’ and now podcasting - asking simple questions like “do these technologies live up to their hype?”
I never worry about issues [...]
