I can’t say I’m surprised that the folks at Rules are rigid and inflexible - afterall it IS London’s oldest restaurant and one doesn’t become that without tradition - eh what?

So they wanted us all to eat the same thing - which just befuddles my American mind. So no - thank you - we’ll decline the offer.

So I happen to have a few other favorite places here in London - like Bugis Street - a wonderful Singaporean place - in the Millenium Gloucester Hotel - where I lived for a few months - back in 1999.

It’s at the corner, around from the front entrance - let’s shoot for 7:30 - shall we?

I’ve gotten replies from a few people I’ve never met - so this should be fun.
