building the open web one bit at a time

Usability comes to Drupal

I’ve been waiting for the usability wonks to get a hold of Drupal and slap it around a bit.

It really needs help - and apparently the Civcspace people were willing to accept that help.

We’re also “stripping Drupal down” - getting rid of many of the “geek erector set” nuances (or shall I say crippling disabilities) and building some killer stuff with it.

But ourmedia.org is generic Drupal out of the box.

What do you exepect for free?
:-)
Anyway - we’ve cracked 14,133 members in a little over a month - and we’re finally stabilizing the system. So come on over and chew up some of Brewster Kahle’s free bandwidth and storage.

  1. Great Idea. I think Drupal has a great base, but it is rather confusing. Many geek terms. I’ve now tried many platforms and love what Drupal offers but not the way it offers it. I am sure as a community offering a better UI would increase the conversations taking place on Drupal-powered blogs.

Can’t wait to see what’s coming down the line.
