Cross posting and the future of having multiple blogs
I was delighted ot see at the recent “Northern Voice” blogging conference that over 80% of the people - had more than one blog. This confirmed all my instincts that we’re entering into an age of ‘multiple blogs’ - where folks maintain 2, 3 even 4 blogs.
They don’t want to give up their original blog or audience, but they’re now particiapting in various community blogs, niche, vertical blogs or even blogs under assumed names and persona.
So what’s the future of cross-posting?
How are we gonna handle putting content up on one blog that you WANT over on one of your other blogs? Isn;t there a coolio new standard waiting in the wings ot handle this?
I just did - just that. I just posted something on the ‘AlwaysOn Network’ blog I get for being a member over there - and I want all of you to enjoy it.
It’s on ourmedia.org - needless to say.

Yep, yep, yep. One of the main reasons that we chose b2evolution as the basis for the TeleInterActive Press: multiple blogs per author, multiple authors per blog(s), cross-posting among categories within a blog or among different blogs [in different categories] and even the ability to move a post from one blog to another.
It may also be possible to use [manipulate] trackback, pingback, and XML based feed syndication [RSSv1, RSSv2, Atom] to accomplish this as well.
And don’t forget wikis and CMS and cross-posting among these and other new web forums.

Marc: I maintain four or five different blogs, and JournURL gives me multiple ways to remix them.
(1) The “sidebar method”. Each blog’s template subscribes to the RSS feeds of my other blogs, running their titles, links, and descriptions down the sidebar. Nothing gets stored permanently, but it’s a handy way to keep up with stuff.
(2) The “one community method”. I could set up a dedicated JournURL community for little ol’ me, and host all of my blogs within it. That opens up all kinds of cross-posting possibilities, such as designating one blog as a group blog that incorporates the content from all the others.
(3) The “ping2talk method”. JournURL supports a modified form of Trackback called ping2talk that allows me to send a ping (from anywhere) to my blog and have that ping show up as a blog entry.
(4) The “syndication method”. Any JournURL community can subscribe to RSS, allowing members to read feed items as if they were posts to a message board. But individual feeds (or items) can be set to “publish” status, allowing me to subscribe to a feed and have it automatically flow into my blog.

Доброго…
Наблюдаю каждый день при въезде в свой район (Филевская Пойма) стаю собак, которая день ото дня растет и ширится.
Пока агрессию они проявляют в отношении автомобилей- кидаются прям
лоб в лоб, в последний момент отпрыгивают и хватают за выступающие части.
Не пытаются, а именно хватают!
Ближе к весне передвижение на моцике мимо них становится проблемой. На
велосипеде лучше и не думать - камикадзе все перевелись.
Насколько действенно их остановить на ходу такими средствами как:
1) газовый пистолет
2)ультразвуковые излучатели - отпугиватели собак типа dazer.msk.ru
Возможно, в продаже есть еще какие-либо активные бесконтактные средства для
защиты себя от агрессивных животных.
Нужен положительный результат в виде пассивной реакции или бегства собак от
двухколесной техники.
Если кто этой проблемой занимался или у него имеется опыт использования
таких устройств, пожалуйста, не поленитесь черканите пару слов об этом.

Egg came first, ‘eggsperts’ agree
LONDON, England — It’s a question that has baffled scientists, academics and pub bores through the ages: What came first, the chicken or the egg?
Now a team made up of a geneticist, philosopher and chicken farmer claim to have found an answer. It was the egg.
Put simply, the reason is down to the fact that genetic material does not change during an animal’s life.
Therefore the first bird that evolved into what we would call a chicken, probably in prehistoric times, must have first existed as an embryo inside an egg.
Professor John Brookfield, a specialist in evolutionary genetics at the University of Nottingham, told the UK Press Association the pecking order was clear.
The living organism inside the eggshell would have had the same DNA as the chicken it would develop into, he said.
“Therefore, the first living thing which we could say unequivocally was a member of the species would be this first egg,” he added. “So, I would conclude that the egg came first.”
The same conclusion was reached by his fellow “eggsperts” Professor David Papineau, of King’s College London, and poultry farmer Charles Bourns.
Mr Papineau, an expert in the philosophy of science, agreed that the first chicken investing stock came from an egg and that proves there were chicken eggs before chickens.
He told PA people were mistaken if they argued that the mutant egg belonged to the “non-chicken” bird parents.
“I would argue it is a chicken egg if it has a chicken in it,” he said.
“If a kangaroo laid an egg from which an ostrich hatched, that would surely be an ostrich egg, not a kangaroo egg.”
Bourns, chairman of trade body Great British Chicken, said he was also firmly in the pro-egg camp.
He said: “Eggs were around long before the first chicken arrived. Of course, they may not have been chicken eggs as we see them today, but they were eggs.”
The debate, which may come as a relief to those with argumentative relatives, was organized by Disney to promote the release of the film “Chicken Little” on DVD.
