Anybody know who invented the modern day ‘roll’?
Legend has it that this old guy - Tojo - is the guy who took the world beyond plain old tekka-maki, etc.
He has a killer place in Vancouver named Tojo. Lots of celebs eat there. We enjoyed a wonderful meal - served by knowledgeable, friendly hosts. Uni sashimi was probably my favorite.
Needless to say he’s got all the dragon, tiger, spider, california, etc. you want. Somebody had to be first. Tojo was 1st.
