No - my blog ain’t broke, but the shit is hitting the fan

2005 is taking off like bang busters!

Predictions:

- people will start to understand what Broadband Mechanics is all about.

- real world, totally satisfying open standards shared servers will emerge around new kinds of micro-content. ourmedia.org will be the first.

- open identity and inter-connected, distributed social networks will bring the concept of the mesh - to the world of Islands out there. The goal is to inter-conenct the Islands into Archipelagos. The open stdnards are the bridges and the causeways.

- everyone will have a real taste in their mouthes of what “digital lfiestyle aggregation” is all about. Each of us will have our own interpretation - but that’s a good thing! It won’t be like Portals 1.0 with only one definition (called Yahoo or AOL.) For every day of the week, for every month of the year, some other variation and business model will twist and turn the notion of DLAs - making it clear that there’s PLENTY of room for the next Google, Mark Cuban or Barry Diller.

So for now - let me say “I’m pretty busy helping to make this all happen” - but I’ll blog when I can. But you won’t find me caring about anything Apple does or whether or not it’s Ok to pay bloggers to blog.

We ARE paying bloggers to blog - and they like the money - thank you. See you in Seattle for “Blog Business Summit“.
