The head lemur bites back.
Take a read - it’s hilarious.

Berkman talk

Thursday, November 18th, 2004

I bummed the good Doctor wasn’t there - but I had fun Webexing into the Berkman Thursday night meeting.
I pitched “open source infrastructure” and the future of new standards for micro-content. Digital lifestyle aggregators need lots of open standards to stand on - and so I’m making sure they happen.
Gregor Rothfuss wrote it up….

Eclipse IDE for Laszlo

Thursday, November 18th, 2004

So the folks at IBM liked Laszlo so much, they threw out Flex and decided to go and build an IDE for Laszlo - without Laszlo having to raise one finger. They liked it so much, they did it all on their own.
I can’t think of a better testament to a technology and development [...]

OpenOneLiners?

Thursday, November 18th, 2004

I’m calling for the creation of a new standards group - centered around the notion of OneLiners.
Adam Rifkin is clearly the leader (and his buddy Ari) - but Jeremy Zawodny is drafted too - if for no other reason I would never have found out about this without his post. And they’re using [...]

I’m interested - sign me up

Thursday, November 18th, 2004

I’d climb entire estuaries of diligence to become one of the ‘good men (and women I suspect)’ who will be part of Om Mailk’s new ‘Broadband Daily’ group blog.

Thursday, November 18th, 2004

Dan Gillmor is reporting on using Drupal in his New Media class he gives - once a year - in Hong Kong.
If we all keep our fingers crossed, by Q1 ‘05 the PeopleAggregator will be baked into Drupal. Working and stable - unlike it’s state today.
Th notion of open source social networking will [...]

Phil Pearson is back!

Thursday, November 18th, 2004

One of my all-time favorite bloggers is back - Phil Pearson.
Here’s his post….

I’ve been busy at work for quite a few months, and then on holiday: one week in Chicago and a week and a half in Tokyo. But now I’m back in Christchurch, just in time for summer.
It’s odd to be in New [...]

This is just a little too close to be funny……

Tuesday, November 16th, 2004

Living in North Beach now, Paul Boutin has a fresh perspective of the life of a San Franciscan, relishing in the air of freedom, creativity and aesthetics.
All he has to do is walk down Columbus to “Cafe Puccinni” or go find this incredible place called “Albona” (on Francisco) to know that he’s in a place, [...]

Congrats to James Seng

Monday, November 15th, 2004

I happen to know that one of the people behind Singapore’s efforts in social networking is James Seng. I met James at SuperNova and I’m planning to go to Singapore early next year to start planting DLA seeds there.
Singapore was the first digital fiber enabled city - and has proven that baking technocracy into [...]

I did a fun photo shoot with a great photographer named Sean Connelly for the Vancouver Sun story.
