Somone was bitching at me the other day “say how come you never bitch about Technorati? They’re down all the time, their performance sucks and yet - well are you taking money from them - too?”

No - I’m not getting paid by Technorati - and they ARE some of my favorite people (Adam Hertz was Host at my twin son’s Bar Mitzvah) - but I guess I do have ONE request of them.

We spoofed our old Radio Userland servers to migrate my blog to MT. That means that NONE of you out there had to switch from http://blogs.it/0100198 -> http://marc.blogs.it.

The transition went smoothly and I didn’t have to do the #1 most hated action that any blogger can ask of you - change the URL/domain address of your blog - to something else. I just DIDN’T wanna ask people to do that (BTW this is the equivalent of lock-in in the blogosphere.)

So now there’s only ONE negative result of this action.

I now have two Technorati accounts.

So instead of having a biforcated existence (barely placing myself at the base of the Long Tail) - I’d have a combined total of 730 links from 505 sources - which ain’t bad - and is starting to get me up that tail’s spike.

So please Technorati - after you’ve cleaned up your performance and stabilized a bit more - can you create ways for schmucks like me (I can’t believe I’m alone) to combine our various blog domains into ONE account.
