Believing what we read
So everytime I bring up MyYahoo I see another absurd poll - showing Bush ahead. That not only scarees the shit out of me - but pisses me off and makes me want to move to Vancouver. Or Amsterdam.
Network TV is basically a reality crap channel now as folks tend to believe what they read and see. TV makes it much easier for them - to consume and congest news in little bits and spit it out - so they can back to their reality TV.
So I just got sent a pointer (by Sandy Starr) to an article about precaution and sustainability. It’s called “The dismal quackery of eco-economics” by Daniel Ben-Ami.
In it - Ben-Ami writes about the disconnect between what we’re doing to the planet and whwt we have as fasr as resources is concerned. Yet anotehr reason to throw out the old and start paying bloggers to blog.
But please people - no more blogger conventions!
It’s sort of like throwing multimedia conventions or CD ROM conventions. Blogging is the means to an end. The distribution channel.
Not the market.
Bloggers are now pervasive in every market, in every channel. So why focus on “what is blogging?”
Why not focus on “Sustainability - and how blogging can help wake up the world” or “why blogging changed my sex life” or “blogging for dollars“.
